Saturday Celebration!

Happy 4th of July America!

And to celebrate, here's a cute meme that Stacie tagged me:

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it:

(1) Go to your photo files…Select the 6th photo folder

(2) Select the 6th photo in that folder

(3) Post that photo along with the story behind it.

(4) Then challenge 6 blog friends to do the same!

In my files of my photo section here is my 6th picture:

Cream Puff. Sweet sweet creamy puffs!

This is a photo I took of the food I donated to an organization that I volunteered at, not too long ago. I brought them about 8 boxes of these to share at a lunch event. I'm of course thinking of going there again once I can walk properly. They have been so sweet to me too, that some actually visited me at the hospital last week to cheer me up.

Today my friends will come over for the 4th of July fireworks and oh I wish I have a box of cream puff to share with them. They will bring all the food though.

Now for the bonus... to challenge 6 blog friends to do the same, I choose the 6th post back and tag the last 6 commenters!

6th post back: Movie Monday XIII

The last 6 commenters:
(1) Billy
(2) Ratty
(3) Katherine
(4) Harriet
(5) Lulu (I need to look up for her link coz the commentluv widget strangely did not add it)
(6) Icy BC

(note to my friends, if you don't want to make a post of this meme at your blog you can add the photo to your comments)

Saturday Seventhy!

Welcome My 70 Friends!

66. Melandri - She has 3 other blogs aside from this one and it took me a little while to find them. But I tagged the wrong photo on her "first commenter" linky love award because I just didn't understand that biography link. Sorry, Mel! Anyway, here's a linky love to Stop War. And if you support the advocacy to end war and spread peace and love instead, please visit her blog too!

67. Thom - He is from Hawaii and his site tp4ww (Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever) is about his opinions and whatever he wants to talk about. There are 3 other personalities in his site, Devon, Keoki and Lani. Surprisingly, you have to visit over to know who or what they are about. Enjoy your stay there and grab a beer on the way!

68. Mrs. Fish: aka Two Fish - aka Karie Herring. Goes by many names, a fishy count from one fish, two fish, three, four and stops at five, will not stop in entertaining their readers, balancing the government budget, and family life. Be careful though so as not to bring her OCD on overdrive! But do hop on over and say hi to The Big G, The Piano Man and The Princess Crabby Pants. If you are confused, just click through and be enlightened!

69. Robb Sempurai - Cute name huh? But his not cute but beautiful Paradise, is non other than the Rivendellious Borneo! He is the mastermind behind the group Rivendellious Circle of Bloggers which is open to everyone! So holler over and grab the badge from his site!

70. Hot Topic - Is a Hot Chick who loves to sing and dance. Her blog will give you information on health, life, money, technology, travel and much more. Get overdosed by her presence and savour it! Just like we do at EC...

Thank you to all those who are following me! Of course, I followed you too and as promised, here are your linky loves! As for my other friends, please say hi to them and drop a comment or an EC.

Saturday Seven

I just read today that AlwaysWinner786 tagged me! Thank you friend!

The rules are:

1. Link to your original tagger and list these rules in your post
2. Share 7 facts about yourself in the post
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names and links to their blogs
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged.

This is a special day as I always post only 5 things each day. Allow me bend the rule just for today.

So here are Seven shocking facts about me:

1. Daisy is part of my real name. Girrrl is not my real last name. (lol) Although I have 2 first names, I would like to withhold this info at the moment. I hope my readers won't mind. You know how children are named by Christian parents? There should always be a saint's name included. This is believed to be the saint who will guard the child.

2. I grew up studying in an All-Girl Catholic School. But let this be not the guide for you to judge me. I am pretty naughty too! (Some of my readers and online friends know this) *wink You just have to know the right link to click.

3. Believe it or not, I am fond of reading Edgar Allan Poe. I do not have one particular story or poem from him to be a favorite, because I simply like so many!

4. I switch channels between CSI and America (or Australia or Britain)'s Next Top Model if they ever air on the same hour. lol

5. I love tea more than coffee. But if there is a coffee tea, I would grab that instead! I also like rose tea. But I haven't tried "daisy tea" if there is ever such a thing!

6. I love dancing at night and have a quiet morning the next day. Like water poured on fire. Pshew! That's how I am.

7. I am moody. I switch from becoming a couch potato to a party girl to a geek wannabee to a workaholic who runs away to the beach as often as I can. Sometimes I run away from the beach because I have too much sea, sun and sangria.

Now, to post 7 friends who I would like to know 7 more things!

Saturday Sky Five

As promised yesterday, here's the continuation of my thank you's for my latest friends and followers!

1. Katie Corrigan - This is her second site. Yesterday, I thanked her too and this is another thanks as she followed me with more than one blog. Katie is a proud citizen of both the UK and the USA. Like me, she greets each day with grace, dignity and gratitude. And I am thankful to have a new friend like her! Please visit her sites and her wonderful and eclectic elegant hand made gifts.
a mix of silly and serious

2. Jodi - She's a big time animal activist and loves her grandchildren to bits! Medical bills and prescriptions aside, her lively outlook and positive aura keeps her smiling each day. With the philosophy of Live and Laugh, you'd be hopping like a frog to follow her!

3. Ricardo Beltran - I couldn't agree less with his words "Life is an experience and experiencing life is an art." Step into a new dimension of art and be mesmerized with his 3D works! I believe some of them are called "light painting" or camera toss. And maybe, he has his own definition!
Beltran Studios

4. Ange Recchia - She's a Geek Girl blogger from Australia and ultimately involved in coaching budding Internet Marketers in Social Media and SEO training. What started as a mom looking for a work from home job, she is now a successful businessmom who's meeting peeps globally. She believes in the saying: what you think about comes about. And so should you!

5. Joanne Olivieri - also known as Jodapoet, her blog Poetic Shutterbug is a showcase of her poetry, photography and philosophical musings mixed with her travel escapades. She's a Californian who's won a trip to Hong Kong with her wonderful writings and now blogs about it and her despise with Today.com (lol)! But she has made a beautiful tribute to her mom by creating The Dorothy Olivieri Memorial Fund for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Please visit this beautiful hearted writer and tell her I said hi.

So for those who doesn't know yet, my simple rule in this blog is, if you follow me, I will follow you. And to update that rule, ...and get a linky love!

S-aturday Banner-S and S-pider!

1. I totally forgot about my Technorati Profile! Thankfully for blog hopping, I came across a couple of blogs with a "favorite this" button which reminded me that I haven't added this blog and Life Needs Retouches yet. See my Full Profile here.

2. Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Here's something to be thankful for... I have a New Blog! The Banner Girl. Please holler over and plug your site / blog for FREE!

3. And thankfully, after some time working on the template and codes, I finally had it 90% complete. What I only lack is the navbar on the top, just above the main posting area. I'll be writing here tomorrow the things and places I would like to thank for making that blog complete.

4. For now, going back to my off-line life, I guess I shouldn't be thankful that about 5 of my colleagues either resigned or got canned from work this week. That's one of the reasons why I haven't been online these past few days. I only drop a couple of EC's here and there but no time for a post. But, in the end I am still thankful I still have my job.

5. Now placing the sad things aside, I was able to write a new entry for my Confessions blog. It's a zoom to the present as someone dear to me left. It's somehow related to no.4 above but, just thankful I was able to write down what happened between us recently. So before you close your computer or this browser, slide over to my The Daisy Experiment and read about it.

Saturday Sweetness

1. I really can't get over these lovely wine and daisy images from flickr! Ha! Who wouldn't be thankful for that!?

2. And speaking of wines, for all the red wines I have tasted this week, the best is still Manischewitz Concord Grape! As for those who want added flavors like fruit juices, soda water and fruit, Sangria is a must try. And just a tip, if the bottle says 8.5% alcohol per volume, it means its sweet, while 13% and above is strong.

3. Now, enough of my wine intoxicating week! Let's move over to things I would like to thank online, like the new widget for Top Commenters. I switched from corpseofattic.com to mxyzptc. Thus, also changing the title to "The Top 10 Lovers" to "Red Hot Lovers". Read the reason for my switch here

4. And after hours of searching for the widget to post an automatic price of ec per day, where I came to the conclusion that I do not have googling talents, I finally found the link to make it. Sorry, I didn't know it was called a chicklet! I just knew I saw a widget somewhere! (And during my daily droppings, I saw that Wiggy had it all along!) LOL

5. For the new learned online word: Chicklet or Chiclet

~ # Chiclet, A small icon adjacent to a blog post, article or web page to indicate the availability of an RSS feed.

* Note:
The term used in this context refers back to the square, pillow shape of Chiclets gum. It is sometimes misspelled 'chicklet' by those ignorant of the reference (cf. the misspelling of the common user interface element known as a 'radio button' as 'radial button' by those unfamiliar with the old style of car radios which used push-buttons for station presets).

Sleeping Saturday

1. My vacation off from work has been so relaxing so far...

2. And while waiting for a full system scan of my computer (which has been going on for more than 6 hours) I'm glad that there is no virus found after 520,000 files... and still counting.

3. For the cool relaxing music playing on my radio

4. For cold iced lemonade to sooth the heat

5. All while lying down on my lawn (ok, I just came in the house to check on my scans, get more juice and update this blog). Now I'm off to my grassy backyard again....

Swell Saturday

1. Today is the last day of Wiggy's ad on my entrecard box. And I'd like to thank him for paying 16ec for 3 days!

2. A few days back, a surprise came from Wiggy as as well. Not only did he give out 16ec's but also blew me away with his present! See his present here You are totally sweet Wiggy!! Thank You!

3. For my off and on-line life! Both are great and looking even better in the days to come!

4. Today I will bring my "students" or protégés to a club I regularly go to. This is a way to display how "confidence" can bring out not only new friends but also to have fun! Now that's what you call mixing work and paaarty!

5. And who would expect that teaching how to fix oneself is so much fun! It feels so good to see the results on how people change for the better after this too. I am thankful for this opportunity!

Saturday Earth Hour

Today is a special day as we mark a Historical Event. I am voting for Earth and switching my lights off at 8.30 Virgin Islands time. Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming.

Above are my 5 flickr pics for this event and here are the 5 things you can do to support Earth Hour:

1. Take your photos of the event and join the flickr pool

2. Take a video and upload it on youtube

3. Go visit Earthhour.Org and join the blogger/Google Friend Connect! (I am the 8,473rd member. And you are?)

4. Blog about it! Or visit and comment to other blogs (you can start off here:The Official Google Blog)

5. And the most important one, switch OFF your LIGHTS!

Skipping thru Saturday

Now, I should punish myself for missing out a lot
of things online this week.

So my last post was Tuesday and I do not have a new list
of wishes for Wednesday. I was too busy this week
I lost track of time.

Nonetheless, here are the 5 things that I thank for today:

1. For the bloggers who visited and commented on my Movie Monday Meme. I will surely join again next week!

2. For Haro Genki, who posted a link to the article "9 Reasons People Cheat". Simple reasons that surely makes a big impact. (I'm still thinking of best the 10th reason - LOL)

3. For the party I attended to last Thursday after work that I was so tired I almost didn't report for work the next day!

4. And of course, for my latest follower, Tanase Viorel who blogs about News, Movie and Games. Remember, follow me and I follow you.

5. Lastly, I missed out monitoring this blog's stats that I didn't see I passed the 10,000 visitors mark! I started this blog on November 9 and hit this goal in just 4 months! Thank you for all the 11,597 visitors (count as of writing) and all those who have visited these pages before and after that. Smooches to everyone!

Saturday Solo

1. First, for having fun even if I spent the whole day alone and indoors.

2. I'm practically "abstaining" today, not because of the Holy Week that will come soon, but simply because I am enjoying my "alone" time.

3. Now I finally have opened my Paypal account! I was waiting for my best friend to give me her link for referral but it's been months since she replied to that mail and now that I have earned some cash at traffic generators, it's time to cash it in.

4. I got a call from my mom and she is inviting me for lunch tomorrow. A little get together won't hurt now, would it?

5. And yes, I miss the old neighborhood and thankful in a way for growing up there. It made me who I am now. And I think it would be nice to visit again...

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Saturday Submission

1. And I woke up in the arms of another man. The night before was all a blur but all I remember was laughing and music and wonderful wine.

2. I am home now and I just realized his flat was way cooler than mine. I need to get his designer, or at least ask his professional taste. And thank goodness he is into designing.

3. Mr. Website Guy claims to be single but duh! For all I care. I won't go deep into that trap again. Thankfully, I am smarter than the average "slave". Or should I say otherwise, for I was the "master" (or mistress) last night.

4. And yep, thank goodness he wore a necktie (He picked me up straight from work). That came handy... for blindfolding. LOL

5. Okay, it's 10am and I just got home and I just had this deep urge to post this. And as he promised, we will meet again later for lunch. After that, who knows what! I simply simply love LIFE! Thank you all for being the witness in all these.

Solid Saturday

1. First off today, let me thank that cute flower clock on the sidebar. Now my visitors will know what time is it in Daisyland. LOL

2. And have you noticed the small flowers scattered all over here? Okay, if you did not notice it still, I have added a small flower at the sidebar's titles. I am starting to get a hang with XML.

3. Now for my inner deeper thoughts. Keeps my head together despite of recent turn of events.

4. I am strong. I am strong. And I am thankful. Trials that cannot break me will only make me stronger.

5. And of course, my latest fan. I mean, follower! Soulsister4lyfe. During her spare time, she makes money online. So again, following my rule... You follow, I follow.

Saturday, February 7, 2009

Saturday Shopping

1. For the organized plans for this weekend that I wrote in my head last night before going to bed.

2. First on the list and I should be thankful for... The shopping day ahead!. I just got nominated to join a little pageant at work but I sure don't want to not take it seriously. But not too serious as well. So, I need to look around for some cute clothes. Wish me luck! Otherwise, I go with my couturier friend.

3. Next, I need to shop for what color to use on my cupboard. And thankfully, I can call on my colleague to meet me at a coffee shop to pick up the paint and all.

4. And a nice relaxing afternoon at the backyard while I wait for the cupboard to be finished.

5. As for dinner, I'm off to buy the ingredients of this romantic dinner recipe I found. Filet Mignon with Mushroom and Bananas Foster for dessert. I's skip the Garlic and Thyme, though. I do not find garlic that "romantic" Ha!

What's the occasion? My boyfriend will come over and I know we will have so much fun! Should I expand on the details? *Giggles* I leave that to your imaginations!

Saturday, January 31, 2009

Slurpy Saturday

1. Today, the color blue is just not such a sad color. I actually saw a blue daisy on the road and it was a beauty!

2. That daisy was a sign of good things to come! And yeah, I am thankful for this positive aura I have today.

3. I visited my cousin today. She wanted me to assist her in her "job issues". And it's simply great to feel that people trust you huh.

4. For the peach and apple pie that my cousin made. It was simply delectable! The way the syrup drips slowly on my finger is irresistible not to lick! *wink*

5. Now, I may have brought paperworks at home (courtesy of my cousin) but I sure glad I could help. Besides, what am I to do tomorrow?

*kisses to All!

Sweeping Saturday

1. First, thanks for more fireworks that looks like daisies!

2. And, I forgot to inform you, as promised from my Free Friday post that I have won my first battle at Battle of the Blogs. And thanks for those who voted for me!

3. Now just for surfing today at Blog Explosion, I won 25 credits! Wow!

4. Now I should get away from my PC to overhaul my house! LOL. Thank goodness for calendar post-its I got last Christmas!

5. For the time I have today to clean up my house. Sweep the dust away and throw the memories from my old pile of junk.

Saturday, December 27, 2008

Soaked Saturday

1. Despite having a free day yesterday, a surprising visitor knocked on my door last night. Now here's to thank a short and soaking night! (if you know what I mean)

2. For the wonderful breakfast in bed that woke me up. A good old home made coffee beats up all the stress of the past nights!

3. For the yellow daisy next to my pillow with a little note with comforting touching words.

4. For such happiness that I sometimes feel I don't deserve. But he tells me that I deserve more.

5. Am I inlove? Now I like to thank that question which has no other answers til now. Daisy is ALWAYS inlove.

Saturday Slowdown

1. I know I promised to update this blog daily. But here's again to thank all those who have visited me and actually read me.

2. for having this blog as a hobby. I will be on a short vacation for the next days but this is such a habit already that I will still update daily on my journal and post them soon as I get back.

3. for the vacation I will have.

4. for the new mobile phone that I just bought for myself.

5. for daisies.
