Sunday Sway

I've been away for a few days. But now I'm back. I hope those who visited me here were not disappointed. While my body is healing from my scars, so does my spirit. I can be positive most of the times but I must admit that sadness sometimes creeps in especially on lonely nights. But here are my 5 thanks for the past days while I am away...

1. An old friend heard about what had happened to me and he was kind enough to offer a short vacation with him. And I'm thankful for that lovely surprise!

2. For romantic sunsets by the beach.

3. For lovely mornings being waken by the smell of fresh roasted coffee and sweet flowers.

4. For my freedom to choose to be with who I want to. I may be uncomfy to be in a real serious relationship, but that may change.

5. I've fallen inlove one to many times and it left me numb sometimes that I play around with the word "love". Shall I treat my last retreat as something different? Maybe I'm just afraid to jump into commitments. Maybe I'm just afraid of being left alone. Maybe I'm just too idealistic. But whatever is ahead of me, I am so thankful of having felt that feeling again... that real feeling of safety, smiling to myself with just the thought of him and the days we spent together, and the feeling of floating in cloud nine....

Monday Movie Meme XIV

Topic for this week is all about...
Subtitles

Some people I know refuse to watch non-english films, despite high acclimation, simply because they refuse to read while watching the scenes. In my case, I do not mind reading it coz sometimes it's even better because you get every detail on word.

It took me a while to remember all the cool movies I have seen but here are my choice for this theme. Not necessarily my top 5 but all very much recommended!

1. Turks Fruit [Turkish Delight] (1973) - Dutch. Considered one of the classic films in Holland, this movie is simply one of my favorites. It may redefine your meaning of bitter-sweet comedy, if you ever have defined it. *wink* And kiddies, this is Rated.
2. Trois couleurs: Bleu [Three Colors: Blue] (1993) - French. I'm not really fond of classical music but this film opened my eyes to the beauty in making it. Tragedy revolves around this movie but there is a dark secret that will only reveal at the end.
3. La double vie de Véronique [The Double Life of Veronique] (1991) - French. Have you ever thought that somewhere in the world, with so many people, there is someone who is exactly like you? No, not a soulmate, but someone who is you but not really entirely. From the same director of Bleu, this film's twists and turns will keep you guessing.
4. À la folie... pas du tout [He Loves Me... He Loves Me Not] (2002) - French. What can I say, I love French movies and Audrey Tautou! And after seeing Amelie (should have been included in this list) I simply hunted for films where she starred. And boy was I surprised to see her at Da Vinci Code! Anyway, this film reminded me of my funny stalker days with my one of my Professors who I had a big big crush on. But of course, I am not as extreme as in this film! Some hated the ending but I think it's always good to find yourself thinking what will happen next.
5. Lola rennt [Run Lola Run] (1998) - German. Oh the things we do for love! This film is full of excitement and unexpected twists that will leave you almost breathless as the lovers rush in finding a lost huge amount of money that may not only cost them their lives, but their love. This movie will make you believe that fate is not all about coincidences but our decisions as well.

Saturday Celebration!

Happy 4th of July America!

And to celebrate, here's a cute meme that Stacie tagged me:

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it:

(1) Go to your photo files…Select the 6th photo folder

(2) Select the 6th photo in that folder

(3) Post that photo along with the story behind it.

(4) Then challenge 6 blog friends to do the same!

In my files of my photo section here is my 6th picture:

Cream Puff. Sweet sweet creamy puffs!

This is a photo I took of the food I donated to an organization that I volunteered at, not too long ago. I brought them about 8 boxes of these to share at a lunch event. I'm of course thinking of going there again once I can walk properly. They have been so sweet to me too, that some actually visited me at the hospital last week to cheer me up.

Today my friends will come over for the 4th of July fireworks and oh I wish I have a box of cream puff to share with them. They will bring all the food though.

Now for the bonus... to challenge 6 blog friends to do the same, I choose the 6th post back and tag the last 6 commenters!

6th post back: Movie Monday XIII

The last 6 commenters:
(1) Billy
(2) Ratty
(3) Katherine
(4) Harriet
(5) Lulu (I need to look up for her link coz the commentluv widget strangely did not add it)
(6) Icy BC

(note to my friends, if you don't want to make a post of this meme at your blog you can add the photo to your comments)

Thursday Things

There are two groups that I want to dedicate this post today. Thankful Thursday and Things that I Love.

While in recovery, I've got the chance to do one of the things that I love ~ birdwatching over the sunset.

Birds are a symbol of freedom and timely, TT's topic is about Freedom. So here are 5 beautiful photos of this symbol and the freedom that I have and am thankful for.

1. I have the freedom to choose where to go or stay.

2. I have the freedom to opt to be alone.

3. I have the freedom for friendship.

4. I have the freedom to love.

5. I have the freedom to be myself.
