Tuesday Theorize

As I was walking home, I saw a bookmark soiled in a pod by the street with the written words of an unknown writer (at least to me), and it says:

"Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. - Robert Heinlein" I had to stop and write it down. I was thinking of picking it up but I am not sure where the water from this mud pod come from soI just sat near to it and wrote down the words.

Anyway, for the past week, I've been too busy I have devoted my time after work to volunteer in a local organization. Well, as much as I want to promote them, I would like to still hide my blogs from them (just imagine what shock it would be to find my "Naughty blog" huh).

So today I would like to thank these 5 things and ideas:

1. A friend who had introduced me to one of the volunteers in this certain local org that helps to "empower women"

2. How honesty can bring people together despite the distance, culture, race and time zone.

3. A dear friend once said to me, "it's easier to speak to a stranger than to someone whom you might be close to at times." And I just couldn't agree less. I think it's easier for people to be honest to somebody who he knows won't judge him.

4. I think that falling inlove is never "juvenile", regardless of how these two souls meet. Sometimes Love comes in the least expected time and the most unexpected place.

5. I may not be in any serious relationship right now, but I am thankful for having experienced what I had and maybe, the struggles that passed by my life does not only benefit me to become stronger but also to help others see that there is light outside darkness.

Monday Movie Meme III

Topic for this week is Ear Candies or Soundtracks

1. Reality Bites (1994) - Oh but of course, this is the first movie that came into mind! I was such a young kid then I promised myself I would get a boyfriend who is in a band! LOL

2. High Fidelity (2000) - And this is my second best! After watching this film I searched for the songs and artists mentioned here. It's so nice to be different sometimes. Besides, the music played throughout the film is really something!

3. Empire Records (1995) - This is the first time I saw Liv Tyler actually speak! After those MTV's with her dad Steve (Aerosmith), I must admit I find it so cool working in a record store like this! But I have to be honest that I saw this film years after it was released.

4. Pulp Fiction (1994) - And who could forget the killer dance sequence of Uma Thurman and John Travolta?!? Need I say more?

5. The Godfather II (1974) - I have seen all the Godfather Movies, and I even wished to be part of "the family" when I was young. Imagine all the power and possessions and adventures! And the soundtrack simply morphs you inside the film!

Ok, I like to exaggerate sometimes. Ha! But these are my top 5 Movies with the Best Soundtrack! So you see now, I'm not all into serious stuff. And music, gee! It should bring you life, right!? And a movie that makes your feet move to the beat, or move you to the edge of your seat is a Great Movie!

Sunday Smiles

They say yellow is the symbol of happiness. And I am feeling yellow today. Here are 5 reasons why:

1. Waking up to the smell of freshly roasted coffee.

2. Having a nice quiet time last night with a very special friend (who woke up earlier than me)

3. Spending the world wide lights off with someone dear to me. Candle lights, wine, the fresh breeze from the sea and total darkness except for the stars. Who would ask for more?

4. And of course, not forgetting my online friends, here's to thank my latest followers: Teezie, Herby, Auntie E, Naufaldi and Cliff (a.k.a. cjude87).

5. Lastly for BYBS who's being handled by Blue Panther. For the members, I have made my first BYBS badge! I am giving permission to anyone who would like to grab it or hyperlink to it.

Today is a special day as we mark a Historical Event. I am voting for Earth and switching my lights off at 8.30 Virgin Islands time. Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming.

1. Take your photos of the event and join the flickr pool

2. Take a video and upload it on youtube

3. Go visit Earthhour.Org and join the blogger/Google Friend Connect! (I am the 8,473rd member. And you are?)

4. Blog about it! Or visit and comment to other blogs (you can start off here:The Official Google Blog)

5. And the most important one, switch OFF your LIGHTS!

Monday Movie Meme II

Topic for this week is Eye Candies

There are so many sexy actors in Hollywood past and present, but I have to pick the top 5 who made a big impact in the roles they played or movies they are in. For me eye candies are characters that are not only stunningly out of this world, but are also portrayed by sexy actors / actresses.

And as always, I would skip adding the ones on the original list from The Bumbles (Meme owner). It took me a while to choose only 5, but here are my top 5 screen eye candies and their movies:

1. Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow - Oh yeah, every little girl's dream pirate! He is so bad he is sexy in that strange outfit and all. And yeah, Johnny Depp... any character played by him has its own colors!

2. Christian Bale in The Dark Knight - not only does he look sexy, his voice is one of the sexiest voices I have ever heard!

3. Angelina Jolie in Beowulf - CGI or not, her sexy bod had me think twice of my sexual preference for a minute.

4. Carrie-Anne Moss in Matrix, Reloaded, Revolutions - Trinity is my kinda girl - one who beats the crap out of men!

5. Naomi Watts as Ann Darrow in King Kong - who could forget that scene where after several times being carried and thrown away, her make up and super white dress is still clean and neat?!

Sunday Blessings

Today lets try something different. I usually write 5 things that I am thankful for each day but as I was surfing BlogExplosion, I found BYBS through New York Nitty Gritty.

So here goes my first entry for Blog Your Blessings Sunday:

Growing up in sugar cane fields and in a secluded quiet neighborhood, our peaceful life had its turning point when my mom re-married. We moved to the city and I started school at a Catholic institution. To make the long story short, I was never really at ease with my step dad. (Those who have read my other blog, would know why) And alot of issues and struggles passed by during my adolescent life. I guess I was looking for a father image, somebody to hold on to as I was fragile inside but I tried to hide it as I display only my rebellious side. With alot of Men who passed by my life, (and I mean, not the normal rate from where I came from) heartaches made me stronger.

Now, I am living apart from them all and starting life anew. I started to realize how beautiful life can be if I would start looking more outside and less inside.

Like, hello, I am living in St. Croix and this is a place where some can only dream about and/or visit. Why, I should make the most out of it and to the least... be thankful for being here, living here and having the life that I had. As I follow my philosophy in life, gold only becomes gold after passing through fire. And now its my turn to shine.

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

I just joined a new group! And here is my first entry

Blog your blessings is "about blogging the good things in life; things that bring a smile on one's face, even in the most desperate situations. There are moments and people like these around us everywhere, all we have to do is look carefully."

And since this whole blog is about thanking 5 things each day, it seems perfect that I should join this group now. Don't yah think?

So I too am inviting everyone to come over and join Blog Your Blessing Sunday!

Skipping thru Saturday

Now, I should punish myself for missing out a lot
of things online this week.

So my last post was Tuesday and I do not have a new list
of wishes for Wednesday. I was too busy this week
I lost track of time.

Nonetheless, here are the 5 things that I thank for today:

1. For the bloggers who visited and commented on my Movie Monday Meme. I will surely join again next week!

2. For Haro Genki, who posted a link to the article "9 Reasons People Cheat". Simple reasons that surely makes a big impact. (I'm still thinking of best the 10th reason - LOL)

3. For the party I attended to last Thursday after work that I was so tired I almost didn't report for work the next day!

4. And of course, for my latest follower, Tanase Viorel who blogs about News, Movie and Games. Remember, follow me and I follow you.

5. Lastly, I missed out monitoring this blog's stats that I didn't see I passed the 10,000 visitors mark! I started this blog on November 9 and hit this goal in just 4 months! Thank you for all the 11,597 visitors (count as of writing) and all those who have visited these pages before and after that. Smooches to everyone!

Tuesday Trails

I'm going Green today! St. Patrick's Day is actually today but on some parts of the world, the celebrations go beyond and before this exact date. So to celebrate this day, let me give 5 facts about St. Patrick:

1. Why we celebrate it on this day? A theory is that March 17, 460 A.D. is the day that St. Patrick died.

2. Almost all businesses close on March 17, on Ireland, with the exception of restaurants and pubs, of course!

3. Saint Patrick is most known for driving the snakes from Ireland, a symbolic of putting an end to pagan practice. He converted the warrior chiefs and princes, baptizing them and thousands of their subjects in the "Holy Wells".

4. The tradition of dyeing the Chicago River green started in 1962, when city pollution-control workers used dyes to trace illegal sewage discharges and realized that the green dye might provide a unique way to celebrate the holiday. That year, they released 100 pounds of green vegetable dye into the river—enough to keep it green for a week! See photos here

5. Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.

And, Okay, so I was home alone last Saturday missing the whole St. Patrick's Day Parade here. Let's just say I am trying to avoid "some people" who are part or in "close circles" with event organizers. Just think of it as my "spiritual renewal".

But, thanks to a friend who sent me this fun pic of the event:

If you wanna see the rest of the photos of this year and past years, please head on over at the Official St. Croix site:
(who knows, maybe you chance upon me in a photo or two) *wink

Monday Movie Meme

Oh! I found a new meme to follow this week. Monday Movie Meme and their topic for this week is War Movies.

There are so many movies about war, post-war, aftermath and all, but here are a few of my selection. Of course, I would skip adding the ones on the original list from The Bumbles (Meme owner).

So here are my top 5 fave War Movies:

1. Äideistä parhain (2005) - I don't know how to pronounce it, but I know it should have won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar at the 78th Academy Awards.

2. Windtalkers (2002) - Nicolas Cage was excellent at this role! And the movie was so realistic.

3. Flags of Our Fathers (2006) - a great film directed by Clint Eastwood!

4. The Last of the Mohicans (1992) - I once had a crush on Daniel Day-Lewis. And he was so sexy here! Oh abs with the long hair! Ops yeah I was a young teen then!

5. Welcome to Sarajevo (1997) - This chilling depiction of the war in Bosnia was a tear jerker!

Sunday Sunset

I stayed the whole day at my Mom's. The house where I grew up is so much the same as I last visited. Here are 5 things to thank for about my stay there...

1. The smell of my mom's home made cooking

2. My mom is really not that old yet. She was 18 when she had me. And guess what? She's not even 50 yet. So in a way I am thankful that our age was not that hugely apart, and she can relate to most some of the things I say.

3. I am more open and vocal about my feelings now, than say, 5 years ago.

4. My step dad still lives with her. And yes, of course I am thankful not for personal reasons, although I hate him still! But that he is still with my mom, keeping her company.

5. And lastly, I am thankful that old wounds have healed already. Of course the scar is still there, but we all live and learn. And eventually move on.

For those who are confused and curious, head on over to my confessions and read all about my step-dad.

Saturday Solo

1. First, for having fun even if I spent the whole day alone and indoors.

2. I'm practically "abstaining" today, not because of the Holy Week that will come soon, but simply because I am enjoying my "alone" time.

3. Now I finally have opened my Paypal account! I was waiting for my best friend to give me her link for referral but it's been months since she replied to that mail and now that I have earned some cash at traffic generators, it's time to cash it in.

4. I got a call from my mom and she is inviting me for lunch tomorrow. A little get together won't hurt now, would it?

5. And yes, I miss the old neighborhood and thankful in a way for growing up there. It made me who I am now. And I think it would be nice to visit again...

Friday Frails

1. Two things to note on my sidebar today, and I forgot to thank blogger for the ability to take tags. lol Now if you haven't noticed, I have tags on some of my posts now. Yeah!

2. Next, I would like to thank a support group that has been helping women not only in the US (particularly in New Jersey) but to other states as well. Strengthen Our Sisters is a non-profit organization that helps battered and abused women to recover and eventually stand up on their own. Groups like this really warms my heart, as there is no known group nearby, I know if there were, I would have recovered soon. Anyway, that was years back and I haven't even tackled much about it on my other blog.

3. Another site to thank for today, is a free banner maker! my banner maker.com Finally I would have my own banners to display for my 7,080 unassigned banner impressions at EasyHits.

4. Now on the simple things in life. An everyday treat for me, garlic sandwich spread. Just wipe some on a fresh bread and toast it, Walah! A simple snack that will quench those midnight snack craves.

5. One more day and it's a weekend! Yes! Thank You!

Tracing Thursday

1. First, I want this to be a day to thank everything online. Links, blogs, directories, traffic exchanges etc. blah blah. If it weren't for these internet sites, I would be totally fed up with my messed up life. Ha!

2. And for still having humour despite of all the silly crazy things I have been through. Not to mention the "supposedly heart-breaking" break up. Well you will know that I am totally over him if I stop talking (or at least, writing) about him.

3. Now for youtube hopping and wasting time in an entertaining way. First I chanced upon a list of crazy links at witchescorner then clicked on a link named Ghosts of Earth then saw a supposedly ghost "caught on vid" (which I find really funny), then you know how it is with youtube. You just click and click until you get tired of watching random stuff. Last vid where I landed was on a hijacked British Big Brother Scene (who of course, I am totally clueless as to who they were), after a vid of Mary-Kate Olsen Mum On Ledger. Pfew!

4. Now I'm going to bed. But thanks to passing the hours I can go straight without thoughts in my head, as I am almost falling off my seat. LOL

5. But before I forget, thank you that nobody has noticed I posted my Wednesday wishes and Tuesday Thanks in one day. (Well it was hours apart ok, so technically it's not cheating) lol...

Wednesday Wishes III

Okay, another Wednesday without wishes passed by. But fear not, for this week, I have an additional 5 wishes to add to my list. For those who missed out on the first two, just move over to my wishes tag.

So here goes my additional 5 this week:

1. I wish the Business workshop that I will attend to this April will be productive both for my career and social life. (Well, I am just being honest)

2. I wish Mr. Website would be my constant companion playmate.

3. And I wish we share more than fun in bed. Maybe a sweet walk in a park or by the woods. Just talking. That would be sweet.

4. I wish I could really, as in really, get over with my (latest serious) boyfriend. How many times do I need to be hurt huh?

5. Lastly, I wish to accomplish my wish list last Feb 25. And as promised, I shall post it after a month.

Tuesday Timing

Yeah, it's all in the timing baby!

1. I was invited to a workshop a few cities away from where I live. It's a bit boring stuff about my job blah blah. But the adventure lurking around the corner would be a blast!

2. I will go on that trip (mentioned above) in the first week of April. Wish me luck! And thanks for those who will...

3. I have occasional nightmares about Eddie for years but just last night, for the first time since we got separated, I dreamed we were happily together! Well, that's a dream that I wouldn't want to come true but honestly I am thankful its not one of those dreams where I wake up feeling scared.

4. For my referrals at EasyHits4U. (these is a win-win thank yous) Who in total gave me $0.50 for surfing 100+ sites each. They are: duhlicious, chris6818, peggy05, 1fantasyguru and velvetSA. Well, these may be a few cents, but I sure know the traffic brought to their sites will surely double if not more. If I only know your links, I'd surely add them here.

5. And lastly for my latest online friend, Bikran. The famous n95 Pictures Blog owner. Cum over and view those wonderful pix made through a mobile phone.

Monday Meme

Now let me tweak up this blog and sprinkle up the pages with exotic spices. Well, sort of.

Okay, for those who are sic of reading about my daily 5 (hopefully none), here's a new thing that I may start doing every Monday. I do encourage everyone to join! Let's see in the coming weeks if I stick with one group or just post all my meme's during Mondays.

I found a blog meme that should perfectly fit here, Give Me Five, but too bad I just came in a little too late as the owner decided to, and I quote, "hold back from hosting the Give Me Five Monday meme". Aww.

But no worries, there is another meme for 5 things every Monday that we can join! And those who regularly visits my blogs would agree that this is just as purrrfect!

Monday's A B1tch.

So, to try it out, let me answer the latest challenge and see later what the next 5 questions would be.

The Movie of Your Life (in 2009)

1. What would be the title?
~ "Life's a Beach"
2. What would be the tag line?
~ "And it's one Hellafa Ride"
3. Who would be the main characters? Who would you cast to play them?
~ I would like to be portrayed by Victoria De Mare, simply because we have "something" in common. And as for my lovers, they would be:

Ewan McGregor (as Lloyd),
Jonathan Rhys Meyers (as Eddy),
Adrien Brody (as Kevin),
John Cena (as D), to name a few.

4. What would be the climax in the story?
~ Ooh! "Climax" There would be several scenes in limbo that's for sure.
5. What song would play for the closing credits?
~ Will Smith "Willow is a Player" [lyrics] [listen]
